Požarevac

Požarevac is one of few municipalities who abondoned their symbols adopted using standards of Serbian heraldry in 90's and 00's. Those arms were official and in use from 2001 until 2005. In 2005, old pseudoheraladic emblem, used from 1966 until 2001, was introduced again.

Following initiative of "Treaty of Požarevac 1718" Fund, municipal coat of arms shall be replaced with old coat of arms from 1966.

Emblem was designed by sculptor Nebojša Mitrić. It contains stylized elements: sword, statue "Kličevac idol", olive branch and three lines symbolizing three rivers - Morava, Danube and Mlava.

Decision about decision about arms, flag and day of municipality change dated 28th December 2005 states in Article 3:

Flag of Požarevac is square shaped with arms of municipality in the middle. Colour of the flag is orange. Arms on the flag is displayed in brown or in the colour of gold.

Former banner of arms of Požarevac was offical 2001-2005. It is consisted of yellow fields representing fertile fields surround town of Požarevac. Blue field is in the shape of greek letter π (lower case pi) refering to estuaries of Morava and Mlava rivers into Danube. Three white discs are positioned in the chief of the banner.

Shield of former arms of Požarevac is red with golden cross. Upper right canton is charged with golden lion rampant holding silver sabre. Greater arms contains silver mural crown, two supporters - black bull and horse armed gold and gorged blue with three white discs, holding banners of Serbia and Požarevac. Motto on ribbon reads the name of the municipality, but certain unofficial version has different motto in Latin: "Ex flammis orior" - "I grew out of fire".
